CW75 Stock Performance

Chemical stocks retreated sharply for the week ending September 30 as the CW75 Index shed 9%. The declines outpaced the S&P500, which fell 3%, and the Morgan Stanley global composite index, which lost 7%. Basic chemical stocks—including ag and fertilizer stocks that were especially hard hit in the week ending September 30—lost 13%, specialty chemical stocks fell 6.5%, and diversified chemical makers were down 7%.
