CW75 Stock Performance

The CW75 Index fell 2.5% for the week ending July 8, exceeding losses in broader market indexes. Basic chemical shares declined 5%. Bank of America (New York) says it is “cautious” about ethylene stocks because, while selling prices for ethylene continue to rise, feedstock costs also continue to increase. Diversified chemical shares fell 1.8%, and specialty chemical stocks decreased 1.4%. The stock market closed down because of investor worries about the financial sector.
