CW75 Stock Performance

The CW75 Index rose 2% for the week ending June 17, outpacing broader market indexes. Basic chemical shares jumped 7.5%, led by fertilizer stocks. Diversified chemical stocks rose 1%, and specialty chemical shares fell 1%. Fertilizer stocks continue to climb on news of rising demand for fertilizer products. Agrium’s stock price jumped 20%, to $111/share, its 52-week high. The company raised its earnings outlook earlier this month (CW, June 9/16, p. 8).
