U.K. Focus: Specialty Chemical Makers Show Resilience in Tough Conditions

The U.K. specialty chemicals industry, which has estimated annual sales totaling £11 billion-£12 billion ($18 billion-$20 billion), has performed well in the past year, boosted by an overall improvement in the global economy. The sector consists of more than 1,300 manufacturers, and its main product segments include adhesives, dyestuffs, explosives, flavors and fragrances, paints, photographic chemicals, unrecorded media, and various industrial specialties, the Chemical Industries Association (London) says.
