Seafield establishes logistics base at UK port, to handle Tata soda ash imports

Seafield Logistics (Worksop, UK) has established an operational base close to the docks at the port of Immingham, UK, to respond to an operational change at Tata Chemicals Europe (TCE; Northwich, UK), Seafield announced today. TCE is scheduled to close one of its two soda ash plants in the county of Cheshire, UK, in the first half of 2014. The company, as a result, has started to import large volumes of product from the United States directly into the port of Immingham.
