Regions :: Western Europe :: U.K. Sabic to Close ABS Facility in the U.K.12:05 PM MDT | June 12, 2009 Sabic Innovative Plastics, a Sabic subsidiary, says it will permanently close an acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plant at Grangemouth, U.K. with the loss of 95 jobs. The closure will be effective on July 31. The Grangemouth ABS plant has a capacity of 50,000 m.t./year, says SRI Consulting (Menlo Park, CA). It is Sabic Innovative Plastics’ only ABS plant in Europe. The closure is part of a wider restructuring at Sabic Innovative Plastics.
