Linde signs long-term supply deal with SSI UK

Linde says its BOC subsidiary has signed a long-term agreement to supply industrial gases to Sahaviriya Steel Industries United Kingdom (SSI UK; Redcar, UK), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sahaviriya Steel Industries (SSI; Bangkok). SSI UK has iron and steel making facilities with a capacity of 3.6 million m.t./year of slab production, Linde says. The 15-year agreement is one of the largest gases contracts ever awarded in the United Kingdom and follows SSI's purchase of the Teesside, UK, steelworks from Tata Steel (Mumbai) in 2010.
