Johnson Matthey to Buy Catalyst Maker Argillon

Johnson Matthey says it has signed an agreement to buy catalysts company Argillon Group (Redwitz, Germany) for €214 million ($313.8 million) in cash from Ceramics Luxembourg, a company owned by private equity firm KKR. Argillon has leading catalyst technology used to control nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, which will expand Johnson Matthey’s existing product line, the company says.
