Ineos asks for no-strike pledge before it restarts Grangemouth

Ineos today provided further clarification of the reasons behind its inability to restart the Grangemouth, UK,  site without an assurance of no further industrial action this year. Following the strike at Grangemouth in 2008, there were two significant safety issues on the restart of the site, the company says.  In the first incident, there was a large fire on a compressor.  " If our employees had been close to the area then there would have been serious injuries or even fatalities.  We then had a major release of hot, flammable crude oil...
