Regions :: Western Europe :: U.K. Gasrec Produces First Batch of Fuel-from-CO22:11 PM MDT | June 19, 2008 | Michelle Bryner Gasrec (London) says it has successfully produced the first batch of liquid fuel from carbon dioxide (CO2) at its new plant located on the site of Sita UK's (Meadenhead, U.K.) Surrey, U.K.-based landfill. The new plant separates and purifies methane emitted from Sita's landfill using process technology developed by Gasrec. The purified methane is then liquefied using technology licensed from BOC, a Linde Group subsidiary, to produce liquefied biomethane (LBM). The LBM will initially be used to fuel commercial vehicles in the haulage and waste management sectors... This information is only available to Chemical Week subscribers.
