Environmental Groups Sue ECHA Over Toxics Disclosure

Environmental law organisation ClientEarth (London) and chemicals watchdog ChemSec (Gothenburg, Sweden) have initiated legal proceedings against the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) for its refusal to release the names of chemical companies producing some of the most hazardous chemicals in the European Union (EU). The lawsuit alleges several violations of European laws designed to promote transparency, democracy, and legitimacy in EU policy-making, ClientEarth says.
