Croda's fourth-quarter pretax profit up 2.6%

Croda (Goole, UK) achieved £59 million ($98.2 million) in pretax profit for the fourth quarter of 2013, up 2.6% on the year-earlier period, the company announced today. Operating profit was £62.8 million, an increase of 1.6% over the same period in 2012. Revenue for the quarter totaled £246.4 million, up 2.6% year-on-year (YOY). The company's consumer care business line contributed about 55% of the quarterly revenue at £135 million, down 1% from the £136.3 million achieved the same quarter the year before.
