Regions :: Western Europe :: U.K. Cookson to demerge performance materials division, creating a new specialty chemicals company12:47 PM MST | November 27, 2012 | Ian Young Shareholders of Cookson Group (London) have approved the company's previously announced plans to separate its performance materials division from its engineered ceramics and precious metals processing divisions. The performance materials division will be demerged to create a dedicated specialty chemicals company named Alent, which will be listed on the London stock exchange. The rest of Cookson will be renamed Vesuvius. The demerger is expected to become effective on 19 December 2012, when the Cookson name will disappear. Alent will be a leading global supplier...
