Sika reports 2013 sales of $5.7 billion, up 9.4%

Sika (Baar, Switzerland) says its 2013 sales were 5.14 billion Swiss francs ($5.7 billion), compared with SF4.83 billion in 2012, an increase of 9.4% in local currencies. The company says it is the first time its sales have exceeded SF5 billion. Organic growth accounted for 5.9% of the overall sales increase, and acquisitions contributed 3.5%, according to Sika. The increase in sales was 6.5% when adjusted for exchange rates, with the strong Swiss franc generating a negative currency effect of 2.9%.
