Sika Acquires Majority Stake in Japanese Waterproofing Materials Firm

Sika (Baar, Switzerland) says it has acquired a majority stake in Dyflex (Tokyo), the market leader in liquid waterproofing in Japan. The acquisition enables Sika to enter the Japanese construction chemical market, the company says. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Dyflex, which was established in 1964, had sales of about ¥14 billion ($154 million) in 2009, and employs 350 people.
