Siegfried Plunges to Loss Despite Rise in API Sales

Fine chemicals producer Siegfried (Zofingen, Switzerland) has recorded a loss of SF35.3 million ($32.8 million), on sales down 2.2% to SF283 million for full year 2009. The company recorded an Ebitda for the year of SF25.3 million, equivalent to 8.9% of sales, before taking into account write-offs on various reassessed balance sheet items.   Sales of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) rose 15.3% to SF220.9 million.
