Lonza to close Ireland biocides site

Lonza, in its business update announcement for the first quarter of 2013, says that it has decided to permanently close its biocides manufacturing site at Swords, Ireland, in June 2013. The Swords site became a part of Lonza through the acquisition of Arch Chemicals in 2011. “The Swords site has experienced a low capacity utilization for some time with no foreseeable change to this trend. That is why we came to the decision to close this site to optimize the production network as intended in our global manufacturing footprint review,” Lonza says...
