Regions :: Western Europe :: Switzerland Lonza Reports Rise in First-Half Profits12:13 AM MDT | July 22, 2010 | Deepti Ramesh Lonza has recorded a 14.4% rise in first-half profits, to SF135 million ($130 million), compared to the year-ago period, and Ebitda increased by 3%, to SF309 million. Sales however decreased by 2%, to SF1.3 billion, mainly due to an expectedly weak first quarter in custom manufacturing, Lonza says. The Life Science Ingredients business recorded a 5.9% increase in sales in the first half, to SF536 million, compared with the year-ago period, and Ebit for the business increased by 17.4% to SF81 million.
