Givaudan Terminates Deal

Givaudan tells CW that it has terminated a three-year taste technology development and licensing agreement with biotech firm Redpoint Bio (Cranbury, NJ) after a key milestone was not achieved. The two companies agreed in March 2007 to jointly discover and develop novel sweetness enhancers and bitter blocker compounds for use in the food and beverage industry. Givaudan says its own salt reduction and sweetness enhancement initiatives have yielded “commercially successful results,” negating the need to continue its partnership with Redpoint...
