EMS Group Reports a Drop in Profit and Sales in first Half; Forecasts Lower Results in 2009

The EMS Group reported a 48% drop in net operating income for the first half of 2009 to SF71 million ($65.7 million) on sales 35% lower at SF541 million. EMS Group's business areas include performance polymers and fine chemicals and engineering. The company blames the global recession and in particular the downturn in the automotive industry.   The performance polymers business reported a 37% decline in Ebitda to SF85 million on sales 35% lower at SF448 million.
