Clariant's Results Beat Forecasts, Boosted by Süd-Chemie; Divestments Considered

Clariant posted a 42% rise in fourth-quarter 2011 Ebitda before exceptional items, compared with the year-earlier period, to SF241 million on sales up 13%, to SF1.92 billion. The results were boosted by the inclusion of Süd-Chemie, which Clariant acquired last year. The Ebitda figure beat analysts' forecasts of SF200 million-SF210 million and the sales figure was higher than analysts' estimates of SF1.8 billion-SF1.9 billion. Clariant's fourth-quarter 2011 Ebitda margin was 12.6%, up from 10% one year earlier. A 9% year-on-year increase in selling prices...
