Clariant confirms outlook on improved second-quarter results

Clariant’s second-quarter net income from continuing operations was up 17%, to 83 million Swiss francs ($91.5 million), while revenues from continuing operations declined 1%, to SF1.53 billion, the company said today. Sales in local currencies were up 6%, however. The company says that strong volume growth has offset unfavorable currency effects. The organic sales growth, 6%, was the result of 5% higher volumes and an average price increase of 1%.
