Clariant Reports a Rise in Fourth-Quarter Income

Clariant reported fourth-quarter 2006 net income up 43%, to SF23 million ($18.5 million), on sales up 3%, to SF2 billion. Operating income from continuing operations rose 28%, to SF134 million, excluding special items. Operating profits increased 7%, to SF112 million including special items. Operating income before special items in the masterbatch division rose 14%, to SF24 million, on sales up 6%, to SF296 million.
