Clariant, Lummus Novolen sign development deal for PP catalyst technology; to build catalyst plant in US

Clariant says that its catalysts business unit has signed long-term cooperation agreements with CB&I's Lummus Novolen Technology subsidiary. The two companies will combine and ramp up R&D efforts to develop improved polypropylene (PP) catalyst and donor technologies, Clariant says. Clariant and Lummus Novolen will jointly invest about 65 million Swiss francs ($70 million) in a new PP catalyst production plant at Clariant's catalyst production hub at Louisville, KY.
