Clariant Acquires Masterbatch Producer in Latin America

Clariant Masterbatches says it has agreed to acquire MasterAndino (Bogota), a producer of color and additive masterbatches for polyolefins, polystyrene, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, and polyethylene terephthalate. Terms were not disclosed. Under the deal, Clariant will continue manufacturing at MasterAndino’s plant until early 2008, at which time it will consolidate production at its existing Cota, Colombia facility.
