Regions :: Western Europe :: Sweden Yara to Pay $40 Million for Catalyst Contract with Süd-Chemie4:59 AM MST | January 10, 2011 | Alex Scott Mineral fertilizer giant Yara (Oslo) has signed a five-year deal with catalyst firm Süd-Chemie (Munich) in which Süd-Chemie will provide it with catalysts for the manufacture of fertilizers. The deal is worth more than $40 million. The supply agreement will cover more than 50 % of the requirements of Qatar Fertiliser Company (Qafco), a jv company which is 25%-owned by Yara. Under the agreement, Süd-Chemie will develop, produce and deliver all front-end catalysts involved in the production of ammonia, as well as applied technical support...
