Borealis Plans Major LDPE Investment in Sweden

Borealis has announced plans for a major expansion and modernization of its polyethylene (PE) capacity at Stenungsund, Sweden. The company will invest €370 million ($492 million) to build a 350,000-m.t./year high-pressure, low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plant and says it will close 230,000 m.t./year of “old, high-cost PE capacity,” as part of the plan.
