Canadian firm submits rare earth mining application in Sweden

Tasman Metals (Vancouver, BC) has submitted an application for a mininig lease covering the Olserum, Sweden, heavy rare earth element (REE) project, the company announced today. It follows the recent granting of a 25-year mining lease for Tasman's nearby Norra Kärr REE deposit. Tasman anticipates that processing of the mining lease application by the Mining Inspectorate of Sweden (Bergsstaten) will take 6–12 months.
