Novartis to divest blood transfusion diagnostics unit to Grifols, may sell animal health and OTC units

Pharmaceuticals major Novartis (Basel) today announced a definitive agreement to divest its blood transfusion diagnostics unit, headquartered in Emeryville, CA, to Grifols (Barcelona) for $1.675 billion.
