Companies appeal ECHA decision on medium-chain chlorinated alkanes

Several companies have appealed against a decision taken by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) on C14-C17 chloro alkanes (medium-chain chlorinated paraffins, MCCP), the agency says. The contested decision was taken on 25 February, following a substance evaluation of MCCP, by the United Kingdom competent authority, pursuant to the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (Reach) regulation.
