Chemicals Output Contracts in Spain

Production of chemicals will fall 8.3% in volume terms in Spain in 2009, compared with 2008, industry association Feique (Madrid) says. Chemicals output will increase 0.5% in Spain in 2010, Feique says. Feique announced the statistics at its recently held annual meeting. Spain's basic chemicals industry is the sector worst affected by the economic crisis. Production of basic chemicals is forecast to fall 16.6% in 2009 and grow 3.2% in 2010.
