Regions :: Western Europe :: Spain Bayer, Ertisa Sign Phenol Supply Deal2:14 PM MDT | June 23, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Bayer MaterialScience says it has signed an agreement with Ertisa, a Cepsa (Madrid) subsidiary, under which Ertisa will supply Bayer with phenol and acetone in Asia and Europe. Financial terms were not disclosed. Bayer MaterialScience consumes phenol and acetone to produce bisphenol A (BPA), a key raw material for polycarbonate. Ertisa will ship phenol and acetone from its Huelva, Spain plant to Bayer sites at Antwerp; Map Ta Phut, Thailand; and Shanghai.
