BASF to restructure construction chemicals in Europe; divestments and redundancies planned

BASF announced today that it is restructuring its construction chemicals business in Europe due to the declining markets, particularly in Southern Europe and in the UK. The planned measures will affect about 400 positions but BASF aims to offer employees other jobs within the company “wherever possible.” Consultations with the responsible employee representatives will start immediately, according to local laws and regulations, the company says.   “The construction industry in many European countries continues to be challenged,”...
