BASF joint venture starts up production of biobased succinic acid

Succinity (Düsseldorf, Germany), a joint venture between BASF and Corbion Purac, has started up its previously announced first commercial production facility for biobased succinic acid, BASF says. The plant, located at the Corbion Purac site at Montmeló, Spain, has a production capacity of 10,000 m.t./year and produces commercial quantities of biobased succinic acid for the global market.
