Johnson & Johnson Buys 18% Stake in Crucell

Biopharmaceutical company Crucell (Leiden, Netherlands) says that Johnson & Johnson (J&J), through its affiliate JHC Nederland, has purchased about 18% of Crucell’s outstanding ordinary shares for a total purchase price of €302 million ($441 million). Crucell and J&J have also entered into a strategic collaboration for the discovery, development and commercialization of monoclonal antibodies and vaccines for the treatment and prevention of influenza and other infectious and non-infectious diseases, Crucell says.
