Huntsman Evaluates MDI Plant in the Netherlands

Huntsman Corp. says it is preparing design and feasibility studies for a 400,000-m.t./year methylene di-para-phenylene isocyanate (MDI) plant at the company’s Rozenburg, the Netherlands site. A final investment decision is expected during 2008, and the unit is scheduled to come onstream by mid-2011, Huntsman says. The final plan may include closing “older, less efficient” MDI plants in Europe, the company says.
