DSM to Acquire Natural Carotenoids Producer Vitatene

DSM has signed an agreement with P&R Group to acquire Vitatene (León, Spain), a producer of natural carotenoids. DSM says the acquisition will strengthen the natural carotenoids offering of its nutrition business, as consumer demand for natural products grows. The transaction is subject to regulatory and other approvals and notifications and is expected to close by the end of the second quarter of this year. Financial terms were not disclosed.
