Operating profits rose 23%, to 237 million. Selling price increases were “more than sufficient” to offset about a €50-million jump in feedstock and energy costs during the quarter, says CFO Rolf-Dieter Schwalb. Organic sales grew 14%, which was evenly spread over volumes and prices. Volumes in the nutrition and caprolactam markets were strong “because of firm demand, expanding market shares and an excellent manufacturing performance,” DSM says. The...
