Regions :: Western Europe :: Netherlands Arkema Closes U.S. MBS Modifiers Plant; Transfers Production to the Netherlands4:11 AM MDT | April 9, 2008 | Kerri Walsh Arkema says it will cease methacrylic-butadiene-styrene (MBS) production impact modifiers at Axis, AL and consolidate its global MBS production at its Vlissingen, the Netherlands plant. MBS modifier customers in the Americas will be supplied by the Vissingen plant during the next few months, Arkema says. The move is expected to yield cost savings of about €3.2 million ($5 million) during the first year, Arkema says.
