AkzoNobel reports higher second-quarter profits, confirms outlook

AkzoNobel today reported higher second-quarter profits and confirmed its outlook for 2015. Net income was up 11%, to €205 million ($276 million), with Ebitda advancing 7%, to €509 million. Revenues were down 4%, however, to €3.71 billion, mainly because of 5% adverse currency effects. The company reports positive volume development in all three business areas: decorative paints, performance coatings, and specialty chemicals.
