World's first commercial-scale cellulosic biofuels plant opens in Italy

Beta Renewables (Tortona, Italy), a global leader in cellulosic biofuels, and Novozymes say that the previously announced new advanced biofuels facility has opened at Crescentino, Italy. It is the first plant in the world to be designed and built to produce bioethanol from agricultural residues and energy crops at commercial scale using enzymatic conversion, Novozymes says.
