Versalis's losses widen, sales and production decline

Versalis (Milan), the chemicals arm of Italy’s energy major ENI (Rome), today reported widening operating and net losses and a decline in revenues and production. The company, which is undergoing a major transformation, reported an adjusted second-quarter operating loss of €93 million ($124.6 million) and a loss of €182 million for the first six months of this year. This compares with an €82 million adjusted operating loss in the year-earlier quarter and €145 million loss in the first six months of last year. Second-quarter sales were 8%...
