Tessenderlo Closes Chlorobenzene Unit

Tessenderlo Group (Brussels) says it will cease production of chlorobenzene at Pieve Vergonte, Italy, citing “grave” market conditions. Tessenderlo says that margins in its chlorobenzene business have “decreased dramatically” due to globalization of the market, excess capacity in Asia, and a “sharp decline” in prices and volumes.
