Solvay Hikes Fluoroelastomers Capacity in Italy

Solvay says its Solvay Solexis unit will invest €10 million ($12.8 million) to expand capacity for its peroxide curable (PC) fluoroelastomers at Spinetta Marengo, Italy to meet growing demand. Completion of the expansion is scheduled for the first half of 2012. The company declined to reveal capacity figures. Demand for PC fluoroelastomers, sold under the Tecnoflon trademark, is growing rapidly, particularly in the automotive industry, the company says.
