Praxair acquires Messer assets in Italy, divests operations in France to Messer

Praxair has strengthened its position in Italy through the acquisition of Messer Italia’s (Settimo Torinese) liquid carbon dioxide, oxygen, nitrogen and argon, and packaged gases businesses, Praxair announced today. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The businesses will be fully integrated into the operations of Praxair’s Italian joint venture, Rivoira (Milan), the company adds. Praxair also sold its industrial gases operations in France to Messer France (Puteaux). Praxair’s French operations included three air separation units...
