Italy moves to ban cultivation of Monsato's MON810 corn

An Italian interministerial decree has banned the country's cultivation of Monsanto's genetically modified MON810—one of two genetically modified crops allowed in Europe—the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry of Italy said on Friday. The decree still needs to be published in the official gazette before it becomes binding. The decree was signed by Italy’s agriculture, health, and environment ministries.
