Regions :: Western Europe :: Italy Ineos to Sell Italian VCM-PVC Units?2:42 PM MDT | October 20, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Recent Italian press reports say that a consortium headed by Italian businessman Fiorenzo Sartor has signed a preliminary agreement to buy Ineos’s vinyl chloride monomer-polyvinyl chloride (VCM-PVC) complexes at Porto Marghera, Porto Torres, and Ravena, Italy. The reports quote a price of €120 million ($162 million) for the proposed transaction. The consortium is also seeking to buy the Porto Marghera chlor-alkali plant of Syndial, an ENI (Rome) subsidiary, the reports say. Sartor controls chemical distributor Videa (Treviso, Italy).
