Haupt Pharma Acquires Pfizer Plant in Italy

Pharmaceutical contract manufacturer Haupt Pharma (Berlin) says it has acquired a production facility at Latina, Italy from Pfizer. The acquired facility is focused on the production of antibiotics, mainly beta-lactams like penicillin and cephalosporin. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The deal will enable the company to provide its customers with a variety of special products including hormones, cytotoxics and beta-lactams, to expand its Italian business, and to improve its market position in the traditional export market of Italy.
