ENI to Close Ethylene Complex in Sardinia

ENI (Rome) will cease permanently the production of almost all petrochemicals at the company's Porto Torres, Italy complex under a plan to convert the site into a previously announced bio-based chemicals hub. The company will continue to produce only nitrile rubber and all of the other plants will be closed and converted to bio-based production. Workers at the petrochemical complex will become employees of the bio-based complex. Porto Torres is on the island of Sardinia.
