Regions :: Western Europe :: Germany Wacker to Stop 150 mm Wafer Production at Portland; 350 Jobs to Be Cut1:04 AM MDT | March 12, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Wacker Chemie says that its Siltronic semiconductor division plans to streamline its 150 mm silicon wafer production capacities and will stop producing this wafer diameter at Portland, OR in the third quarter of 2012. As a result, 350 jobs will be cut at the Portland site, which currently employs about 750 people. Siltronic will continue to produce 200 mm wafers at Portland.
